This is the definition of a man cave. This space started off as an awkwardly narrow rectangular room across from the rooftop door in my client’s house. There were not many options it could be utilized for. So the wet bar idea was perfect for entertaining on the rooftop.

It started out as a truly blank slate. We decided on neutrals for the room. Starting with white cabinets and a solid granite countertop.

After picking the cabinet and counter colors I decided on gold as the accent color. I had the perfect handles already in mind. They have a brass finish and are leather-wrapped in the middle

Floated shelves were definitely a must to display the barware and glasses.

My Client is a huge Kobe Bryant fan thus, the inspiration for the room. With “Black Mamba” being his alter ego I thought a snakeskin patterned wallpaper would be fitting. To not overwhelm the space with the pattern we painted the wall with the shelves a plain black.

Artwork for the space included 2 Kobe Bryant Canvases and 1 frame of a “cocktails” poster.

I had the perfect runner in mind to help finish up the space and ironically the dimensions fit impeccably.

Next, was the fun part, Decor! Most of the decor here are functional pieces. I only added a few accents like plants and decorative objects. The Kobe Bryant book and bobblehead were things my client already owned so they fit right into the design. Most of the barware was sourced from target.

One of my favorite things from this room is the bar book. It was such a great find. I love the classic aesthetic and all the great recipes and tips it has.

If I could describe this project in one word it would be “sexy”. The pictures simply do not do it justice and there is definitely a vibe upon entering. I hope guests also feel the same way.
Thanks for stopping by,
God bless
